Are you thinking about a career within Mental Health?
BSMHFT offer a range of Work Experience Programmes that currently includes Clinical Insights and Work Experience opportunities to help support and grow a skilled, diverse and flexible workforce that meets the needs of our service users, both now and in the future.
To be considered for the Clinical Insights programme or any work experience opportunities that we have available, you will need to be in full-time education; years 10 to 13, and/or resident in the local Birmingham and Solihull areas.
Clinical Insights Programme
This programme has been designed to offer students an overview of the following careers within mental health: Psychology, Psychiatry, Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health Professions (AHP). The programme will provide students the opportunity to explore different career and training pathways into mental health.
Following the success of our Clinical Insights Programme that took place in February 2020, we will be running an additional Clinical Insights Programme in July 2020
Uffculme Centre, 52 Queensbridge Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8QY
Monday 6 to Friday 10 July 2020
Applications will be open, and further details available soon.
Work Experience Opportunities
Work experience is a fantastic way to gain an insight into a particular career and will help you to make an informed decision about your future career options. It will help you to develop an understanding of working and caring for people in a mental health setting. It will also build your confidence and give you an understanding of the required attitudes, behaviours and values that are expected in any working environment, not only BSMHFT.
Please note that we do not have any clinical work experience opportunities at this time.
Future opportunities will be advertised here.
We have the following non-clinical work experience opportunity available:
Finance/Purchase Ledger B1 Trust Headquarters, 50 Summer Hill Road, B1 3RB
Monday 6 to Friday 10 July 2020
Closing Date for applications: June 15 2020
To apply, download and complete the WEX application form available and return to bsmhft.workexperience@nhs.net or Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Uffculme Centre, 52 Queensbridge Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8QY
Please note that if you do not hear back from the Work Experience Team within two weeks of the closing date then you will have been unsuccessful.
