We are pleased to announce that Patrick Nyarumbu has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Strategy, People and Partnerships at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT).
Patrick is currently Director of Nursing, Leadership and Quality for NHS England and NHS Improvement (East of England).
Patrick is a mental health nurse by background and has worked and in a wide range of NHS organisations covering mental health, acute and specialist services as well as a Primary Care Trust and a Clinical Commissioning Group. Patrick is passionate about leadership development, talent management and championing diversity.
Speaking of his appointment, Patrick said "I am really pleased to have been offered the opportunity to work in such an innovative organisation, and I am excited to be going back to my mental health roots. This is a pivotal time to be joining the Trust with the launch of its new strategy, of which people is a key priority, and I am looking forward to leading change to make the Trust a great place to work and be cared for”.

Until Patrick’s appointment, although our Board was relatively representative of our local communities, our executive team was not. Patrick will join the Trust on 2 November.
