Birmingham Healthy Mind’s celebrate their 10 year anniversary

Published: 30/03/2021

Our Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) service celebrate their 10th anniversary on Thursday 1 April.

Birmingham Healthy Minds is an NHS primary care psychological therapies service. They have supported many people in Birmingham over the last ten years, helping those who experience symptoms of low mood, depression and/or anxiety and would like to be able to manage these symptoms better. They offer a variety of treatments, for example cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and interpersonal therapy.

Kully Ingram, Clinical Service Manager within Birmingham Healthy Minds, is keen to recognise the contribution of her colleagues:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all BHM staff for their hard work hard work, commitment and compassion to BHM and the service and also for overcoming the additional challenges of the last 12 months due to COVID-19.

“The service started on 1 April 2011 and we have gone through a lot of changes since then. We have helped thousands of services users with their mental health recovery and continue to make a huge difference to many people’s lives. I delight in reading so many wonderful stories from the people who we have supported and this is something I feel proud to be a part of.

“We’ve seen many staff members develop in their mental health careers whist with BHM, with some leaving the service to return at a later stage in their new positions. We welcome and help train many trainees every year to become competent practitioners and even still have eight members of staff working with us who formed part of the original cohort of trainees with BHM back in 2009. It’s remarkable that we have a number of long serving staff that have been there from the beginning and remain committed to Birmingham Healthy Minds and continue to do a wonderful job.

“I am sure BHM will continue to make a difference to many people’s lives, grow, prosper and embrace change for many years to come!  It’s exciting to think of where BHM will be when we stop and reflect in the next ten years.”
