Announcing our 2014 Christmas card winner

Published: 18/12/2014

Earlier this year, we launched our annual Christmas card design competition. We asked budding artists among our staff, members and service users to send in their designs to be in with a chance of having their design used as our Trust’s electronic card for 2014.

We received more than 90 designs, and the judges were very impressed with the high standard of entries.

The judging panel was made up of our Chief Executive John Short and Faheem Uddin our Lead Governor. After much deliberating, it was decided that the design (right) created by Ron, a service user at Hollyhill unit, was a worthy winner. Ron, who has some manual dexterity problems, took a creative approach to designing his card, using plastic shapes, gold tinsel and paper to create a winter wonderland.

Our runner-up spot was awarded to a service user at Reaside who although registered blind, used his artistic skills to create a festive snowman. Our highly commended spot went to a service user at Ashcroft who used collage techniques to create a fun, seasonal design.
