BSMHFT / Time to Change pilot project launch

BSMHFT and Time to Change are working together on a new pilot project that aims to address some of the challenges and discrimination faced by some of our service users. The aim of the project is to work with young African and Caribbean men to co-produce a bespoke intervention model that will empower them to have their voice heard and contribute towards reducing the stigma and discrimination that can exist in mental health settings.

Time to change
Over the course of a year, the pilot will seek to engage with 300 young African and Caribbean men with experience of inpatient care as well as 900 statutory sector staff. It is hoped that this project will create a legacy of positive experiences for both young African and Caribbean men and statutory staff.

You are invited to attend the project launch on January 21, that will bring together partners, health care professionals and service users to encourage a positive solution focused dialogue to identify ways of addressing stigma/discrimination.

When: January 21, 2014 from 1.30pm till 5pm

Where: The Centennial Centre, 100 Icknield Port Road, B16 0AA
