Mustak Mirza

Mustak Mirza was elected in April 2017 as a Service User Governor for Birmingham.

His mental health deteriorated in childhood and remained undiagnosed until 1994. In 2011, he was involved in a serious incident and got in touch with the Trust PALS Service. The service provided information about courses at Fircroft College and courses/service user groups provided by the Trust. MM joined the Positive Mental Health Group, Recovery Advisory Board for the Recovery College.

Mustak stated that he has an awareness of many positive factors occurring in the Trust from engaging with service users. As a Service User Governor, he believes he is able to work as part of a team to help improve and enhance services for others and help them in their recovery journey
