Better Together

Keep active, keep well

Our Trust takes the health and wellbeing of our service users very seriously, because people with enduring mental health conditions are more susceptible to weight gain, coronary heart disease, certain diet-linked cancers, diabetes and respiratory conditions.

We are delighted to be able to tell you about two initiatives in Birmingham which aim to support better health and wellbeing across the city, which are just as relevant to people in mental health services as anyone else.

Big Birmingham Bikes

Big Birmingham Bikes is an exciting initiative, which encourages more people to cycle. The bikes are free to those who apply and are successful in the draw. Due to the fantastic success of the Big Birmingham Bikes draw process so far Birmingham City Council have increased the number of bikes available so they are reopening the draw with the same criteria as before. You can apply by clicking on the free bikes link on www.birmingham.gov.uk/bbb

Many of their cycle centres are up and running and offering free adult cycle training, free led rides and free cycle maintenance courses.
