Black Maternal Mental Health Week UK is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the mental health challenges faced by Black mothers.
Recognised nationally, this initiative aims to promote education, advocacy, and support for Black women during their pregnancy and postpartum journey. By shedding light on the unique mental health disparities experienced by this community, the week-long campaign strives to foster understanding and drive positive change in maternal healthcare practices.
Launched by The Motherhood Group, this week they will be running events, webinars, and solution-focused discussions to foster crucial conversations that help to drive meaningful change.
Team BSMHFT is proud to support Black Maternal Mental Health Week UK. As a Trust, we aim to reflect the rich cultural diversity found in Birmingham and Solihull, meeting individual needs and experiences.
Please visit The Motherhood Group’s website to learn more about the many activities they are doing across the week to bring attention to this important campaign.
