Over 150 of our psychological professionals came together at our annual celebration event, focusing on excellence in professional development and clinical practice.

Based at Birmingham City Football Club’s grounds, the theme this year was Innovation and Transformation.

Opening the event, Dr Sunny Kalsy-Lillico, Chief Psychological Professions Officer highlighted the growth our psychological professional workforce has had over the past year – soaring to over 560 colleagues. Sunny also reflected on how Team BSMHFT is working together to improve clinical practice, patient outcomes, and staff experience.

Lisa Stalley-Green, Chief Nurse praised the work she has observed since joining the Trust in February 2024, highlighting the importance of multi-professional working to improve outcomes for our communities.

Later in the day, Experts by Experience, supported by Katherine Allen, Lead for Recovery, Service User, Carer and Family Experience shared personal stories about why co-production within mental health care is so crucial.

The event was a welcomed opportunity to sit back and acknowledge all the achievements and positive outcomes that have happened over the course of the year. From successful research activities, work to reduce health inequalities, nurturing early careers, or getting recognised nationally for innovative projects, the energy and optimism in the room was palpable for all.
