Caring Minds delivered a special prize to the lucky winner of their virtual balloon race recently.

Race winner ‘ZedRos’ or Julie Lee as the team later revealed won the race after her balloon travelled a virtual distance of 9948 km. 

Julie, who is a trainee counsellor signed up for the virtual balloon race after seeing it advertise on the Trust’s Facebook page. Julie said:

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust do such an important job in the community, often with stretched resources and I wanted to support that. I am delighted I won. Thank you again for the gift hamper, what a lovely surprise and hand-delivered too – I really appreciate it.

Caring Minds set up the virtual event to celebrate the NHS’ birthday (5 July). In total, the charity raised £200 which will be used to fund activities or equipment for service users, patients or staff that is over and above what the NHS can provide.
