With around 72 Assistant Psychologists across 40 different sites, it was a welcomed sight to see 65 of them under one roof at their away day recently, enthusiastic about their professional development for the benefit of our service users.
Held at Birmingham City Football Club’s St Andrews Stadium, the group gathered to share successes, network, and learn more about the valuable work their cohorts do across Birmingham and Solihull.
Throughout the day, a range of topics were discussed including Trauma Informed Care, Art Psychotherapy, Forensic Psychology and Compassionate Focused Therapy. Additionally, the group got to hear from our Experts by Experience, Nick, Roxs and Kay who took part in an interactive session with the audience about the work that they do and how essential they are in understanding patient-focused care at BSMHFT.
The away day proved to be a huge success and received incredible feedback, so much so that this will be made an annual event going forward.
The day was organised by Assistant Psychologists for Assistant Psychologists and particular credit goes to the AP Leadership Team: Olivia Sale, Aamani Akbar, Jess Lee, Mandeep Rayat, Tahnia Haque and Niall Gamble whose hard work made the day come to fruition.
Excellent work Leadership Team!
