Dan Mooney House’s grounds were transformed recently, allowing patients and staff to enjoy their surroundings in comfort.

The outdoor space was renovated to include a relaxing new seating area as well as new flooring, seasonal plants and an outdoor greenhouse – ready for service users to utilise. The space also has football nets, a basketball court and an outdoor foam darts board to encourage more patients to get active.

Formally opening the space, Ward Manager Dadrian Clarke was joined by Dave Wise, Estates and Facilities Management Project Lead for Summerhill Services Limited (SSL), a wholly owned subsidiary for the Trust.

Residents and teams from Dan Mooney House, David Bromley and Hertford House also came together to enjoy the festivities.

Luckily the sun came out just in time for all to enjoy outdoor activities, music and a buffet spread, which was carefully curated by activities coordinator Sylvia Mangan.

Dan Mooney House is a 15 bedded male complex care unit located in Solihull that supports mental health patients in their recovery journey. Staff offer a multidisciplinary approach to a patient’s care, equipping them with the tools they need to safely reintegrate back into the community.
