Who we are
Aims and objectives
Caring Minds is proud to be the charity of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT). BSMHFT operates across over 50 sites throughout Birmingham and Solihull to provide a wide range of inpatient, community and specialist mental health services.
Together, these services include rehabilitation, crisis and home treatment, assertive outreach, early intervention, addictions, day services and mental health wellbeing. Whilst our work covers many areas and can often be complex, our aim is simple to ‘improving mental health wellbeing’.
Enhancing a person’s visit to BSMHFT can make all the difference to their wellbeing, improve recovery and enhance their overall experience of our services. Caring Minds is committed to providing support for the best possible facilities and environment for our service users, patients, carers, visitors and staff.

Meet the team
Although BSMHFT has over four thousand staff members and serves over one million service users throughout the Birmingham and Solihull, the Caring Minds team is very small with just two staff.
Louise John, Charity Manager, pictured left
Louise joined BSMHFT as charity manager in 2022 to grow and develop the great potential of the charity. Louise has most recently worked at LUCIA (Life Uplifted by Change In Africa) fundraising to help build a children’s library in Ethiopia and Get-A-Head, a head and neck cancer charity.
