The journey through our Integrated Community Care and Recovery Service begins with an assessment. One or more mental health professionals will assess the needs of each individual service user so that they can understand their mental health illness and work out the best way to support them. They will talk through their thoughts and feelings and what may be troubling them. Learning about our service users and the areas of their life where they could be experiencing problems will help us to provide the support they need.
Service users are very welcome to bring someone with them to their assessment appointment. This appointment will take about one hour. Follow-up appointments may be needed to complete the full assessment.
The team carrying out assessments will review the information they have been given. The Integrated Community Care and Recovery Service will notify service users of he outcome of their assessment within two weeks.
At the beginning of their treatment they will be given an estimated discharge date. Our aim is to work with each individual service user to ensure they are able to leave the service, be independent and manage theor own needs.
